Dvd Dvdvd!

I think only Rick will understand the title. Oh, come on Rick! Are you not singing?

Just thought I'd like to share that a very dear lady bought me a dvd player for my new pad! It was great to spend the evening yesterday watching movie without having my laptop burning my knee. (To Anna - that's not to say I don't love my laptop! Thanks again by the way! (Guys - my girlfriend bought be a Macbook Pro - how cool is that?)) Did I close all the parentheis?

Any suggestions for my next dvd viewing would be appreciated! There you go, something to contribute to!

I watched Coach Carter yesterday. I thought it was a nice story and Sam L Jackson is the king of cool. He's also pretty nifty with a light sabre.
Turning Tables

Well, the tables did't so much turn as jack themselves up on one leg. Confused? So were we!

Really, something as crazy as this should not have had to wait a full week to feature in my blog but owing in part to the problems it caused I have had a too-busy-to-blog kind of week.

The early birds nearly choked on their worms when they arrived into our office last Monday morning. Two of our very cool sit-down/stand-up motorised desks were bearing all the hallmarks of a break in. The only thing that contradicted that thought was that nothing was actually missing. The computers, not actually in the back of some badly driven Ford Transit, were sitting in an unsightly heap on the floor. Their former home, and once considered desirable desks had decided to jack themselves up on one leg and heave their burdens onto the carpet tiles.

Some shoddy electrical workmanship would appear to be to blame (although not conclusively as yet) as it was discovered the poor furniture had been inflicted with a few hundred volts more than usual. I know that if I had that running through me, I wouldn't know whether to sit or stand or whether I'd even have that choice to make - I'd probably just wet myself. Did I really just type that?

So we lost a couple of desks and cracked a monitor? Big deal I hear you cry? Well add to that a couple of other bits of kit we had plugged in - a do-pretty-much-anything photocopier thing, two laser printers and a 42" Plasma screen - and you may start to see how it might be irritating.

It may not be fully deserving of the hype I gave it at the start. But if I tell you I work in shipping it may help to show how somthing like this can really put a spark into an otherwise dull week!

And to all those tabloid newspapers out there:

I guess it was inevitable that I would get dragged into this blogging thing. But as I sit here typing I must admit that I find it nice and relaxing!

Two big things happened to me today.

One is that my apartment took a big step toward being a home when my sofa arrived. By wee brother (although for those who know him, you'll realise that is a rather inaccurate description) stayed over last night just so he could hang round here all morning for the delivery men. Ah, the delivery men - bless their cotton socks and all credit to them for their unbelievable ability to squeeze large objects around the tightest of corners! But thanks to them I was able to sit comfortably and so was able to begin to blog.

The second of the big things only takes this place chronologically. My beloved Anna called me today. She was offered a job in the UK! Now, that may sound like great news and for us, to receive that news a number of months ago would have seemed like several Christmasses had come at once. But the job is with Fossil in Milton Keynes and Anna had planned to come here in September. So we have a bit of a dilemma - what is best to do? That said, we are fully trusting the Lord in all of this and praying earnestly that he will guide us to where we are supposed to be and to what we are supposed to be doing there! We would value your prayers as we make this decision.

So that about wraps things up for today! Maybe someday I'll think of some cool thing that you all could contribute to. But if you're feeling in the contributing mood - why not try taking a picture of a number in a cool way and send it to Dermo. You don't know Dermo! Check your pulse, because you're not living!!
