Crazy Men on a Building

First I brought you 'Crazy Man on a Crane', but now be amazed by 'Crazy Men on a Building'.
Again I must apologise for the poor photo quality and ask you to squint at the picture. On a day were we had near gale force winds and the rain was pouring I watched these poor, senseless guys make a vain attempt to wash the windows of the building across the road. A case of misplaced heroism if you ask me!

Andreas' Art

Just one example of my brother's work. He did this as a Christmas gift to me. It could well be the best present ever! If you want to see the original you'll have to come visit! I live at.......haha, not that stupid!

If you want him to create one for you then drop me a line. I'll try to gather some more pics together soon of other stuff he has done.

The Future is Bright

But it might not be Orange. Like Laura G I'm in the market for a new phone. My current Sony Ericsson W800i on Orange has done ok apart from the fact that I can't seem to get a good signal where I am right now - in my living room! So I'm thinking of a move to O2.

Orange, of course, have offered me a few incentives to stay. They were quite tempting but I don't think they can quite offer what O2 can - a phone call in my own apartment to name just one thing. I feel though that I'd like to apologise to the guy from Orange who called me in an attempt to save my business. I was rather busy in work at the time and could not engage myself fully in the conversation. So I asked that he email me the details to the address I had previously registered with them. I think he tried to call me back after that but I couldn't hear him on the other end so I said something about the poor reception and reiterated about the email. When I hung up I realised I hadn't registered an email address with them. So I'm sorry Mr Orange guy but if you look at my account now it's there!

The rest of you still with me? Ok, so what about the phone? Matty will swear by the N93 but I'm thinking it is a bit too bulky. I looked at an N80 but I'm told it is dog slow. The N73 comes highly recommended. That said, I have been a Sony Ericsson user for some years now on account of their remote control capabilities with the mac. But their most recent phones don't seem as good as the Nokias - the K800i is quite good but isn't 'smart'. Mmmmmm

Anyway, better go sleep on it. Any suggestions welcome!

Scott Matthews

My brother suggested I might like this guy's music and he was right. I've been listen to his album, Passing Stranger, in the car on the way home from work. I don't listen to cds on the way in as I listen to eh, Radio Ulster. Seriously.

I think it is a great album and well work a listen. If you do listen to it can you tell me if I'm right in saying that Track 6 is used in the Miller advert where the guy rides that rather old fashioned bike to a party - picking up a pack of suds on the way of course?

Crazy Man on a Crane

I know the photo is rubbish but if you squint you may be able to make out a man towards the end of the crane. This transfixed me yesterday as in a rather Casino Royale-esq moment we saw a guy make his way out on the limb apparently fixing something at the end. I got dizzy just watching him!

FYI, what looks like a rather strange cloud formation is in fact the reflection of the light in my office. Looks kinda cool though.

Arthur Maersk

I was untroduced to a lovely model today. But it turns out that the model was a ship and went by the name of Arthur.

This scale model of Arthur Maersk was sent to our office today and now sits nicely visible from the office window. It is about 7ft long so did not fit in the lift. It took four of us to trail it up the stairs. At times we thought raising the Titanic would have been an easier Friday afternoon exercise!

It may not seem that interesting to all of you . But I hope it goes some way to help those of you who after I tell you I work for Maersk you say - who? or what do they do? Well as the photo suggests we do shipping - containers to and from more countries than you probably know of (except Ramsey of course).

Thanks to Dermo for working on the website.

Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Sadly, I don't think this one is capable of telling me who is the fairest of all but it might help me to shave properly or even brush my hair! I managed to put both the mirror and the shelf up this afternoon. If they're both still up tomorrow I'll assume I did ok!

Thanks to Matt for keeping my company as I trawled around shops looking for the shelf. Wouldn't you know it mate - I ended up getting it is M&S - the shop we started in! Doh!

Couldn't help but notice that Dirk Benedict aka 'Face' from the A-Team made his way into the the Big Brother house tonight. I suppose if he hates being in there he could probably just botch a tank or some other contraption together and break out.

Who's the crazy fool now Dirk?
Plugging Out

The little plug in I had been running that allowed me to download my hotmail messages had started to cause Apple Mail to crash so I unplugged it. Now I'm set up with a rather nice Googlemail account courtesy of the lovely invitation extended to me by Matt.

So far it is working rather well. Mind you, not very many messages in there yet.

Hi! Guess I've just got the bug again. Mmm, what have a done since my last entry? No, I haven't run any distance to contribute to a New Year's resolution I didn't make, nor have I seen anything remarkable that I can eh, make some remarks about. It is more to do with catch up.

The pic this time is of lovely vase my sister got me for Christmas. Thankfully she gave it to me before the big day so I was able to illuminate it by stuffing bawbles and fairy lights into it! I thought it looked rather well.

Of course, the lights and the tree are all packed away for another year. Does anyone know how many shopping days we have until the next Christmas? If you're like most blokes out there, the answer should be one!

Anyway, I just hope that your Happy New Year is not confined to a few jovial moments when the clock struck 12 on Jan 1st!
Hello! It has been a while since my last post so for all you guys who have relentlessly come back here expecting something juicy and new - I must apologise. I guess I should apologise for not posting anything at all and for the fact that this post, the one you've all been waiting for isn't that exciting!

The photo kind of encapsulates a little of what the past few months have been like. I took the shot with my phone while sitting alone, outdoors, eating an evening meal at a restaurant in Bishopgate, London. It was the middle of November and the only thing stopping the camera shaking from the cold is the patio heater beside me - not pictured. I sat there for a good deal longer than the meal warranted watching the world go by. It was a rather strange and somewhat bewildering world that walked by. I guess I just felt a little out of place.

All that said, I loved the lights around the market stalls. I wish I had a decent camera so could walk round getting a bunch of cool angles on them. No need to worry about what people think you're doing in London!
